New Name for Lakeside Ladies Golf Club

At an Extraordinary General Meeting held on Tuesday 12 March members (including committee members) successfully voted via a secret ballot to change the name of Lakeside Ladies Golf Club to another name.  The vote was in excess of 75% as per our constitutional obligations.  Once the name has been approved by the Consumer Affairs of Victoria, a committee spokesperson will issue a notice to all members via email.

Vale Therese Caine

Our members were saddened to hear of Therese’s passing yesterday after a long illness.   Therese was a member of the Club from 2002 to 2018.

Her professional skills in risk management ensured she maintained a detailed and sharp focus as our Treasurer in 2007 and 2008.  And as a proficient golfer, Therese could proudly boast at least two hole-in-ones!  A feat many of us can only dream about.  But her warm and welcoming manner put new players at ease and made her a very popular playing partner.  Her golf cart driving skills were something different though – let’s just say she left quite an impression (in the pro-shop window) at the RACV Cape Schanck golf club a few years back.

But most importantly, her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and love for life was infectious to all of us who knew her.

Our thoughts are with Lyn and their family and many friends.
